Val Johnson's legal career began when he traded Wyoming's snow-swept plains for the green and wet of Seattle and law school at the University of Washington. His law school pedigree holds accolades esteemed by most graduates: membership in the school's Moot Court Honor Board and a position on the University of Washington Law Review. Graduating in 1988, he traded seattle drizzle for Las Vegas sunshine as a litigation associate at Nevada's largest firm. Three years later he became regulatory counsel for the subsidiary of a Fortune-200 company engaged in the testing of nuclear weapons for the Department of energy at the Nevada Test Site. After the cessation of nuclear testing, Val returned to private practice focusing on business and real estate transactions, commercial litigation, and health care law.
